Final week drama and a deserved winner - BBL 2023/24 in review

With the BBL|13 season in the books, it's time to take a look back at the inaugural Cricket Heroes Best Ball fantasy cricket competition.

Congratulations to our winner, Horro's Heroes, for a consistent and dominant season. This team led the standings after all but one gameweeks during the season, briefly surrendering a 28 point advantage in the penultimate week before finishing strongly with a 104 point margin of victory.

The battle for second and third place also featured a heavy amount of final week drama. WBBL Team had led Meigel’s Mastros by an average of over 200 points from weeks 2-7 before an epic final week saw the gap close dramatically. The Maestros led all teams with a huge final week score of 545 points! But WBBL Team were just able to hold on, squeaking home by a single point, in large part thanks to the final game washout between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades.

While the number of signups was very is encouraging, it wasn't enough to trigger a prize, meaning our winner will just have to bask in their glory and bragging rights instead.

In lieu of awarding a prize to the winner of this year's competition, the top 3 teams will all receive extra entries into the prize draw for a BBL cap of their choice, along with the participants of our user research survey. As the winner, Horro's Heroes will receive a double entry into the draw. Keep an eye on your emails for details of how to participate in the research and the prize draw.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the initial competition. We look forward to welcoming you back for upcoming competitions such as the Indian Premier League (IPL), Major League Cricket (MLC), and the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which is hosted in the Caribbean and the USA.

Thanks for playing, and we hope you had fun!
